Matthew 25 - Parable of the Talents

Jesus is wrapping up his answer about his return. The parable of the Talents has lots of applications however we should be sure to understand the clear meaning that all of us are accountable for the gifts, the talents, the opportunities that we are given. Don't waste your life!

Matthew 25:1-13 Parable of the 10 Virgins

The Parable of the Ten Virgins is part of the response Jesus gives to the question about the end of the age and his return. Five of the ten were faithful, the others unfaithful. This parable is also an answer to the question Jesus asked in Luke 18:8, "However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

 

 

 

 

 

Ephesians 4:17-24

Ephesians 4 continues with Pauls brief discussion of Christ's gifts - - first to those spirts in prison and then to the Church. Paul talks about the unity of the Church and responsiblity of all members of the Church to grow and mature

 

 

 

 

Matthew 24:45-51 Parable of the Wise and Foolish Servants

Jesus continues his answer about the end of the age and His return. The Wise and Foolish servants represent those on earth when He returns. All of us have been given gifts and duties and responsibilities while on this earth. We need to take these seriously and not be foolish. There will be a time of reckoning

 

 

 

 

 

Ephesians 3:14-4:13

Paul concludes Chapter 3 of Ephesians by praying that the Lord would strengthen us and enable us to know this amazing love of Christ which passes all understanding and knowledge and that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.   Chapter 4 is a great  chapter on the unity of the Church

Matthew 24:32-35 Parable of the Fig Tree

This parable of the Fig Tree is in three of the Gospels.  Jesus starts by saying, 'Now learn this parable from the fig tree'      This parable is also a prophecy that speaks of the rebirth of Israel just before the second coming of Jesus Christ.   We should all 'learn this parable from the fig tree'
